Couple this with the fact that 144MM Americans spend more than 52 mins per day driving in their cars, and 76% of those folks spend that time driving alone. It can make the road feel like a pretty lonely place. This untapped time and America’s love affair with their mobile phones prompted Volkswagen to create SmileDrive, the first social app to maximize fun on the road.
